Because the internal clock on the camera and the internal clock on whatever audio recording device run at slightly different rates. That’s why you pay big bucks for equipment with sync.

Split the audio when it starts to drift and move it back in sync. You may even have to stretch it a little. I do this all the time syncing originally recorded music to live performance. Sometimes I have to split every measure and stretch just to keep it in sync. It’s tedious but it works.

There is no way that I can see to program the Mackie to run scripts. Sony does not seem to expose scripts in the Mackie assignment dialog like they do in the keyboard remapping dialog. It looks like Mackie support hasn’t been updated since Vegas 4 because it does contain script calls in the Vegas 4 format but not for any later versions.
Unfortunately, you can only control what Sony exposes to the Mackie interface. You should send a Product Suggestion to Sony.

I assume that the videos for the single layer disc were shorter and perhaps the problem only happens on very large clips. This is why feeding DVD Architect MPEG2 files is always the best approach. It just eliminates the whole rendering issue.

This might be a bad font. I know I’ve had a few fonts that I’ve downloaded not work in certain applications. There are font managers that will scan your fonts and tell you which ones have problems. Try and find another font that looks similar.

I have had mixed results just as Grazie has. Some times I can just drop the VOB file on the timeline and it works. Sometimes Vegas | File | Import | DVD Camcorder Disc works. Sometimes you need to rename the VOB files to MPG while on others I have had to use VOB2MPG. One of those recommendations from Grazie should work.

Get a free copy of GSpot and drop the VOB file from the DVD on it. It will tell you a lot of things about the file, one of which is the bitrate.

Technically, since 8.0c fixes bugs in 8.0b it’s 8.0b that’s buggy. 😉
All software has bugs. I’ve been using 8.0c since came out with no problems. I would not go back to 8.0b. I like the new trimmer features.

This is used when you are going to edit the footage. Preparing 24p for editing should use 2-3-3-2 pulldown because it’s easier to remove.24p DV 2-3-2 pulldown
This is used for final 24p out to DVD (or whatever your final media will be)Use the one that fits your scenario. If you are done editing, use 2-3-2, if you plan on more editing use 2-3-3-2.
