You should fix this when you import the image sequence. There is a dialog right after you select the images that asks you what the frames per second is. That’s where you need to tell it that the sequence represents 8 fps. If you set your project to 8 fps then there should be no dissolving. If your project is set to something else, then you need to right-click on the clip’s event on the timeline and select Disable Resample. It’s the resampling that is causing the dissolve look.

What do you mean by “discs”? Did you create 8 DVD’s and now you want to combine them?
Why not render them from the original projects? You can also create a master project and drop the other projects into it a nested projects to render them all as one big file.
If you want to link the 4 files in DVD Architect, just change the End Action of each file to play the next file.

I understand what you’re trying to do now. I think you realize that in the future, you really need to use a tripod with the camera locked down for this kind of effect because you have added the additional complexity of tracking the camera movement while rotoscoping. Anything you paint on the video now has to also move with the camera as you’re painting it! You would probably need something like After Effects and Motion Track the camera movement, then stabilize the video long enough to do the rotoscoping, then finally apply the motion tracking keyframes to the rotoscoping spline so that it moves with the camera. You also have to mask the moving T-Ball stand which should be in front of the rotoscoping at all times. This is not beginner stuff.
I would get your tripod out, dress your son up in his uniform and take him back out to the field, and shoot it again as a static locked down shot with no camera movement. Don’t use the T-Ball stand. Then all you have to do is follow the head of the bat in the dirt.

Actually for the second problem you want to uncheck the option to close files. The problem is that the files are getting closed and then when you switch back, Vegas has to open them all again. By unchecking this option, Vegas will keep them open. This means that you can’t edit them in other applications while Vegas has them open but it does make switching back quicker.
For the first problem, what format/codec are the source files and where did they come from. I’m thinking it’s the file format that may be the issue.

You really need an application that can rotoscope or vector paint the path. You could try doing it in Vegas with a mask over generated media but it will be very tedious. What kind of effect were you thinking of?

More than likely it’s not your monitor that is preventing you from playing Blu-ray discs but your video card. If you don’t have an HDCP compliant video card you cannot watch Blu-ray disc on your PC. I have an ASUS Geforce 8600GT SILENT/HTDP/256M (HDCP Ready) video card and I bought it specifically because it was HDCP compliant. I have no problems watching Blu-ray discs on my PC.

I’m not exactly sure what file format are talking about. Did someone send you a file that they consider a batch capture list? Did it have a file type of .sfvidcap? If so, this is a format that only Vegas understands. There is no way to get this information into Premiere Pro.

If you are trying to maintain the alpha channel then use the Quicktime Animation codec. Otherwise Sony AVC and MainConcept AVC give good quality at low bitrates (but no alpha channel).

Hover your mouse over the bottom of the windows until your cursor turns into a black double arrow (up/down). Then click and pull up. It’s hard to catch sometimes so very slowly from the bottom of the window hover your cursor slowly toward the top until it looks like this:
