Yes. These are Quicktime Pro features. FCP comes with a license and serial number for Quicktime Pro (version 6.x with FCP 4, version 7 with FCP 5)

Markers on clips can be highlighted and deleted in the Browser.
No real way to delete multiple sequence markers, though I suppose you could just copy/paste into a new sequence if you want to get rid of them all.

I think this is the frame size when viewed on a computer screen, which uses square pixels, rather than video, which uses rectangular pixels. If it didnt make this adjustment, the image would look stretched.

  • The reason is that the EDL protocol was invented for linear (tape based) edit suites and is limited only to very simplistic numeric descriptions of things that are possible on that type of equipment. In a linear edit suite there is no such thing as multiple video tracks, clip names, plug ins…etc.

Just make multiple copies of your timeline. One with each of the individual video tracks. Export an EDL from each. Remember, almost no effects info will translate using this method.

You dont have to blow it up. The image is the same height as in 4:3, but it is wider. You just have to stretch it out to its full width (yes, the sides will be cut off) in the motion tab or use the wireframes in the canvas. Do it to one clip, then use paste attributes to apply to all. Then you need to choose whether to keep the shots centered, cutting off the sides in a 4:3 frame or do a pan and scan. If you did any DVE moves, you will have to redo them for the different frame size.

Select the Sequence in the Browser and then select Find from the Edit menu. A window opens where you can search for all unused clips (among many other things).

I am sure there is some other way to do it, but when I add the movie to the page in Adobe Go Live…in the Inspector under Quicktime, there is an option called Kiosk mode, which disables Saving and drag and drop of the file.

I see the Cow’s Quicktime forum has gone away, probably because Philip has moved on to greener pastures.

    No codec for OSX.

The OS9 codecs will work in the Classic Environment. You can then export them from the OS 9 Quicktime player in the Meridien codec.

Oh yes…i misunderstood you before. A reference movie export would require rendering…that is why the time kept rising.
