this happens if you have a file size limit set in capture now. long captures get divided up into multiple files, that are interdependent in order to play. the first file in the series will play and reference the others.

  • Soundtrack Pro has an excellent noise remover filter.

You could alsoe xport as an AIFF, then experiment with the Space Designer effect or the Reverb filters in Soundtrack Pro. They are pretty good…more user friendly than the FCP audio filters once you get the hang of it.

  • Make sure the Motion movie is not 720 x 486 (SD). If it is, it will mess up your field order. You can fix it by bumping it up by one line in FCP.

What do you want your final version of this to be?

An audio MP3 or do you need video at all. This really sounds more suited to Soundtrack Pro (turn you chapter markers into Scoring Markers).

This is normal. Unstretch it with the motion tab. You will notice much of your image is now cut off at the sides of the 4:3 frame. This is what they are asking for. Full frame, 4:3 non-letterboxed video. You can leave it “center cut” or use keyframes to pan and scan to keep important important areas in frame.

[Zeliha] “would it take much longer to render it?”

Possibly, depends on your system and the length of the timeline. Maybe not. If you render everything, you may need lots of disk space depending on the length of your project also.

Try rendering only the dissolves and other effects first (using “render selection”). Then nest and appy the timecode filter…it may work in realtime.
Its entirely dependent on the capablility of your system.

  • in the reconnect dialog box there is a check box for restricting to matched name…turn it off and any clip will be available.

[Zeliha] “However when I watched the playout back there seemed to be problems like audio and video dissolves would become straight cuts randomly.”

Sounds like your system is not robust enough to play this out in real time without render.

Try reducing your video playback quality or render all your dissolves (or render everything). If you want to render everything, make sure all items are checked in the render menus (the dark green defaults to unchecked because it is full quality–no render needed unless you have problems like this)
