  • “vtr trouble” message during capture attempts

I just bought a G5 quad core, Kona LSe card and Final Cut Studio 5.1. I use a DVCPro AJ-D450 deck. Whenever I try to capture, through either batch or capture now, I get an error message that says “VTR Trouble. Do not attempt to unthread the tape…” which stops the capture attempt. There is nothing wrong with my VTR, I’ve used it for 5 years with FCP 2 with never an error. I have deck control, just can’t capture. I upgraded the Kona software and FCP but still get the message.

If anyone has any ideas, please help. This is a brand new system and I am already a week late starting a big project. The client is going to go somewhere else if I don’t get this fixed soon!

there is an issue with certain panasonic machines, but there is a fix.

contact me with an e-mail and I will forward you a file to place in your plug-ins folder which should take care of the problem
