Nope.
Even if you make a custom sequence preset in FCP, all the Kona displays is a still frame.

Export Quicktimes with the Overlay composite mode “baked” in. Don’t forget to include handles for your dissolve.
Bring them back in and do your dissolve…does it work now?
Also try, as suggested above, using nesting…this is what its mainly for…although, sometimes their behavior can be…um…unpredictable.

If everything is on a network or other external volume, it will not work. I believe FCP needs to be on your local machine and its internal hardware to function.

There will be a noticeable stutter if you use separate tracks in DVDSP, as the laser will have to jump to a different physical place on the DVD. There is no reason why you cant lay the separate clips all on one track, however. I do this all the time.

Do you have an Intel Mac?
After Effects plugins are not supported on Intel Macs.

You dont have to do this. In your Render Settings you can set it so that all your renders are done in ProRes. Your footage without effects will remain HDV and not need to be rendered. Much more efficient that way.

You are correct. Animation is not a realtime codec.
Use the 8 or 10 bit uncompressed codec instead. -
I’ve used the Lyric plugin many times (though I don’t think the very latest version)
Its always been unstable as hell. If ESPN didnt require it we would stay far away from it.
