Cant do anything apart from open recent files
Hello hope this is the right place for this question. I have just started working with a company and i seem to be having problems. The have a copy of final cut studio 2. When ever i load up the workspace i can open the recent items and thats it. I cant start a new project, Import video nout. The options are click able but when clicked nothing happen. So what could be wrong. The Mac its self has no files as everything is stored on External hard drives so it not the disk being full. Was wondering if anyone might have a solution to this problem. I have a feeling the guy that was last here has had the disk away as i have serial numbers but no software. So if reinstalling is not an option unless you know where I can download using the numbers i do have. Thanks in advance for any help givin

If everything is on a network or other external volume, it will not work. I believe FCP needs to be on your local machine and its internal hardware to function.

For me sounds like a permissions issue. have a look if the external drive, project files and footage is set to read and write.
Cleaning your directories wouldn’t make any harm.
