  • I’m using FCP 6.0.6 right now, is there any way i can automatically set the SEQ to the setting of my media?
I’m using both QTs shot on a Canon Dslr (awesome looking 1080i video) and some 1080HDV footage. I want to sent my sequence to the QT because they are the bulk of my source media but i can’t seem to get the correct settings in which the red un-rendered bar disappears.

    Thanks

    Richard,
I know my input might not mean much to you since I’m still pretty young in this industry, but here I go …
An idea for starting a cable channel is awesome. love that. The subscription model though, not a good idea. I would imagine that subscriptions to the playboy channel and other subscription channels (besides HBO and showtime with their excellent original programming) is dropping relatively quickly. (could be wrong on this, haven’t done much research)
If you create a great product or brand and supply awesome content that’s original and creative, you shouldn’t have a problem picking up advertisers or sponsors.
We’re living in a world where people expect to get more and more for less and less and most of the younger audiences want everything for free. They want it when they say “now” and they want it wherever they put their eyes; phones, notebooks, cars, etc.
Soooo, yea, that’s my two cents. Starting a cable channel, awesome. charging a subscription, I don’t think that will end with you making any money.

Also, depending on the amount of work you will be doing and your budget… for future projects you can pick up a box from teranex. (https://www.teranex.com/) This will basically upconvert any SD 4:3 footage to 1080p. It does alot more than that, but this is just one of the features.

You have discovered the crux of multiprocessor computing…

If you have one process that generates one thread, then it will tax only one processor with that one thread to finish that one process.

You have to have applications that are capable of multithreading in order to tax all the processors, or be able to run multiple threads at the same time and assign the tasks to any of the available idle processors.

As we see newer operating systems
and applications take better advantage of the hardware available, you will see less idle processor time and better performance throughput from multiprocessor machines (and I’m not just talking about being able to write an email while burning a DVD and rendering a Flash movie in the background).

It will take a shift in programming before we all feel the advantage of multiprocessor machines, but once this starts to happen, there will be a palpable difference in performance, rather than the lackluster 25% utilization you are seeing now on a quadcore system.

Here’s a couple of my favorite thing about avid …
It does all the hard work for you and keeps all the media in one easy place.
I can use multiple video formats on the same time-line and it renders on the fly.
The workflow for an episodic series, offline and online editing has been used and tested over the years and works great!

If someone is looking for a nitrous system, you won’t have to try to sell them on it, they will know what they’re getting and just buy it.

Various customer stories here, from music videos to feature length films.

Know what you’re selling… Media composer Nitris

    or Symphony Nitris

I’m actually a little interested. We have 2 nitrous systems, 2 adrenalines and 5 Mojos.
I would love to know what you guys are selling. specific Computer models/software/dongle/nitrous setup.

    Thanks
