I’m working with Avid Media Composer.
I have a project with multiple source video,
    some SD other HD formats.
I have both different formats on my timeline,
but I want to output the project as HD.
Can someone tell me how do I set it up so that
my Digital Cut is in HD format? Most likely, it will be output to
    tape.

    thanks!!

Select timeline and do a transcoded to the DNxHD format of your choice. Once all media is HD, you can output to your master tape.

Also, depending on the amount of work you will be doing and your budget… for future projects you can pick up a box from teranex. (https://www.teranex.com/) This will basically upconvert any SD 4:3 footage to 1080p. It does alot more than that, but this is just one of the features.

    Avid Adreneline – MC 3.1
    Avid Nitrous – Symphony
    Avid Mojo – MC 3.0.1

As is always the case, make sure you do a test output before you get to cruch time. Pushing it to the last minute will guarantee failure.
