Hi,
I reduced the size of the .jpg images to 50%. The Rendering was done at a fixed 6,000,000. There is no zooming, panning or any other effect – just straight shots with one second overlap. The quality was BEST. Unfortunately it has not solved the problem effect. The only thing left to do is to “reduce interlace flicker” and that is my next attempt.John23GR

Sorry, but what are “DDP files?” I am not up to speed on the nomenclature.
Regarding color “printed” DVDs they look great, and according to their ad do not smear easily. But I am not ready to buy another printer at this time.
Regarding Lightscribe, I am in a tiny minority that likes them. I do not like the “dirty gold” color, but have been effectively using “black and white” graphic art with some success. (Photos or grayscales are not great, but the detail possible in graphics is impressive.) CDs produce a superior result than DVD Lighscribe blanks. -

Here’s another audio question:
I am transferring VCR>D-Camcorder>PC, but my VCR machine is monaural. This results in Vegas with one channel with the sound, and the second channel silent. I have no problem with monaural sound, but would like to end up with 2 channels of audio, even though they are identical. How in Vegas (or in DVD Architect) does one do that?John23GR

Jerry, I don’t have soundforge because I just don’t do much audio editing. As to the DELL 24″ it does enjoy a high reputation, and I’ve seen some extensive (and believable) tests on it. See below about Gateway and Samsung.
Rick, I was using the Nero “Noise Gate” and after you mentioned it I noticed that Vegas has the same effect. The choices are bewildering! I tried Vegas noise gate on another video (Old VHS thru Sony D-Camcorder passthru to PC.) It had a similar noise, a “hum.” Try as I might I could not remove it with Vegas. I finally used Nero, discovered it had a “de-Hum” function, and a preset for 50Hz AC noise (and others.) I tried it at 60Hz without luck, but at 50Hz it did a pretty fair job. Rendered it into .wav, put it into Vegas and it’s much, much better.
Harold, I checked the Gateway, including the site you mentioned, and I agree it seems an excellent monitor, and cheaper than the others in its class. Ultimately, however, for the price of one or two gas-tankfuls more ($80 each where I’m at) the Samsung is equal to, and somewhat superior to the Dell. So I’m about to plunge!John23GR

Thank you. I downloaded DVDDecrypter, and used one of my video DVDs. It was easy to create .VOB files, and pre-reading the general information it looked like DVDDecrypter could “demultiplex” the VOBs back to MPEG2. But searching through its menus (mainly “Settings”) I could not find anything (that I could understand) that would do this trick.

Thank you for your prompt and helpful replies. I could not find the box with the manual, so I downloaded it from Sony. As I vaguely recalled, indeed the manual did have the precise example of letters and flames. Besides the manual, the guidance you gave me was most helpful. I will also re-do the titles with .PNG instead of .jpg.

I do this so seldom (maybe once a year) for friends, and for relatively few photos (maybe 30 or so) that I haven’t focused on a “batch process” software like Excalibur. So that I won’t waste the short time free trial, I will wait until I have a “project.”
Meanwhile… in the Options/Preferences/Editing there is a selection: “New Still Image Length” which can be set for a given number of seconds. That is pretty straightforward, and I even used once at 2-frames-per-picture, for a brief amateur animation. Vegas is very good! Is there not another command, that would also pre-set each added photo to the previous, by a specified overlap (cross-fade) amount, in terms of time?
In the same Editing dialog box: What does the “Automatically overlap…” check box and the “cut to overlap” adjustable number do? -

Thanks, Don. These are not “generated media” such as Text, which I have learned how to move about. These are .jpg photos of hand-written descriptions ~ hence their personal charm. Maybe I am not understanding something…
