Vegas 7 DVDA 3 & Double Layer
Hi again,
I’m taking a trip to the US and thinking about buying an internal double-layer DVD burner for a PC.
Using Vegas 7 and DVDA 3. Do these support double layer burners?
Also, are there any recommended with the Lightscribe feature?

John, according to the Release notes, DVDA 3 offers “Dual-layer mastering and burning support”.
The majority of posts I’ve read do not recommend the Lightscribe feature.
You’re better off with a colour printer that will handle printable DVDs.
I haven’t tried them yet but the new Taiyo Yuden watershield discs are supposed to look great (better colour saturation) when printed on. -
DVDA supports dual layer, and supports easy output of DDP files for mastering/replicating DL discs.

Sorry, but what are “DDP files?” I am not up to speed on the nomenclature.
Regarding color “printed” DVDs they look great, and according to their ad do not smear easily. But I am not ready to buy another printer at this time.
Regarding Lightscribe, I am in a tiny minority that likes them. I do not like the “dirty gold” color, but have been effectively using “black and white” graphic art with some success. (Photos or grayscales are not great, but the detail possible in graphics is impressive.) CDs produce a superior result than DVD Lighscribe blanks.
