It makes sense to edit in a seq set to your delivery format. It sounds like you’re on the right track. How did you recompress your XDCAM footage? It might make sense to re-capture or re-transfer the XDCAM to ProRes, as recompression can affect quality.

If you try to crop, does the line just move with the crop? Maybe if you nest the key and then try to crop the nest you can get rid of it. Have you looked at the various matte views to see if you can identify where in the process the line is coming from? I’ve never seen this. Hopefully, someone else might have an idea.

Have you tried to crop that line? If so, what happens? Is that line in the key layer, the background or another layer? I have used Keylight in AE, but not the FCP plugin.

I’m sorry, but I’ve exhausted my meager store of ideas. Maybe a more educated COW can chime in here.

Calibrated Software has a product https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/MXFImport_Mac.asp as does MXF4Mac https://mxf4mac.com/ and Raylight for Mac https://dvfilmstore.com/raylight-for-mac.html Maybe one of those can read the mxf files you have saved to your hard drive.

One last thought re repair of the card. It’s possible that Disk Warrior can “see” the card even though it doesn’t mount. P2 cards are RAID drives so maybe DW can repair the card’s directory. Their support is very good. Maybe they’ll have some ideas. https://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/index.html

There are a number of programs that can probably help. Apple’s Soundtrack Pro has noise reduction capabilities. If you search the Cow for noise reduction you should find others.

  • Checkout Andy’s Guides. https://web.mac.com/andymees/Free_and_Easy/main/Entries/2008/1/29_Andy%E2%80%99s_Guides.html I’ve played with this and I recall it needs to be rendered. Another thought if you have a Kona3 card is to make your guide as a graphic and use the downstream keyer in the Kona to insert the guides on your monitor.

I don’t know Premiere, but is it possible you’ve imported a SD clip into an HD timeline? Check your settings. It might make more sense to ask this in the Premiere forum as it’s more likely an import/setup issue and not an HPX issue. I’ve never seen the HPX produce non-standard-sized clips.

  • I saw a post a few weeks back with a similar problem. I think the solution was to trash the render files (using Render Mgr) and re-render. You might search to find that thread.

Before you reinstall trash prefs, repair permissions and run Disk Warrior (IMHO, the single most important utility for a Mac).
