  • By rendering Alpha Only you are getting just that – an alpha channel with no fill (ie. the bird). In the Render Queue window look in the Video Output section and you’ll see a popup menu for “Channels” choose RGB + Alpha and that will do the trick!

  • In the timeline to the right of the blue time readout there are some buttons that enable various features. The button on the far left is the “live update” button. Check that it is selected then give it another go.

Sound like you need to adjust the pan keyframes (I assume you are using Position to do this) so that they overlap the Scale keyframes, then adjust the value graph. If you are using Position to do the panning you should consider using Anchor Point instead. Because a layer scales around it’s anchor point, using position can cause your image to slip which can look strange.

Theres a great article by Chris and Trish Meyer on https://www.dv.com called More Motion Less Control which you might like to take a look at (you’ll need to create a login).

It’s not possible to do those kinds of page turns in Invigorator – you’ll need to use Freeform or another 3D application

May 13, 2005 at 9:40 pm in reply to: 3d Stroke?

You certainly could create one using 3D stroke but it would take some work. If you don’t need the strokes to be 3D there are a number of ways to create this effect – check out my tutorial a few posts down for one example.

One way is to create a master control layer in your main comp and apply the effect you are using to it. Then link the parameters of the effect applied to the other comps to the parameters to the effect on the master control layer using expressions and the pick whip. This takes a little time if you’ve already created so many comps but once it’s set up, any changes to the effect on the control layer will update all of the other instances of the effect.
