    Hello,

I’ve got an After Effects project that contains 150 compositions that create a render pipeline. Each one of these compositions contains a layer with the same plugin applied to it. Each time I pass some source footage through this After Effects project I need to tweak the parametres of the applied effect.

My question: Is there a way to script the tweaks I want to make to the applied plugin, so the parameters are updated globally across all the compositions? Each instance of the applied plugin has to have the same parmeters. Basically, all the instances need to have identical settings but those settings will need to be changed each time I replace the source proxy with a new piece of footage.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Callum.

One way is to create a master control layer in your main comp and apply the effect you are using to it. Then link the parameters of the effect applied to the other comps to the parameters to the effect on the master control layer using expressions and the pick whip. This takes a little time if you’ve already created so many comps but once it’s set up, any changes to the effect on the control layer will update all of the other instances of the effect.
