I’m using AE 5.5 and am wondering if someone can help me with what I know is a pretty basic thing. I’m creating an effect on a still photo that looks like zooming in and then panning a section of it. I’d like for the zoom and pan to look like one smooth motion without a brief “stop” in between the zoom and the pan. Currently, the motion zooms in, stops briefly, then the pan begins. How would I set things up to allow for the “one continuous motion” look?

    Thanks so much-

Sound like you need to adjust the pan keyframes (I assume you are using Position to do this) so that they overlap the Scale keyframes, then adjust the value graph. If you are using Position to do the panning you should consider using Anchor Point instead. Because a layer scales around it’s anchor point, using position can cause your image to slip which can look strange.

Theres a great article by Chris and Trish Meyer on https://www.dv.com called More Motion Less Control which you might like to take a look at (you’ll need to create a login).
