Thanks Jeff, I’ll give that a shot on my shorter more graphic projects such as the wallpaper.

The Digital Rapids is great for the longer stuff, since it’s a real time compression, generally that’s the talking head things. It’s when I do the highly graphic things, that the artifacting/compression stuff starts driving me nuts.

While ago you recommended DVD-Demystified…ordered my copy today.

    Thanks again Jeff.

4 years ago, during the days of AE 5.5, I rendered off a composition that had over 350 layers. Course it took over 20 hours.

  • If I recall correctly, PS7 only supports square pixels. From a quick search, start your menu in photoshop with a 768 x 576. That will resize to the correct aspect ratio upon importation into Encore.

    Cant change filler levels.

What I have done for that is to create a project called GRX SAVERS. Made a bin and inserted a pict of 0 black, 235 white, bars and tone sequence and effects I use constantly.

Then all I have to do is open that bin into whatever project I’m working on and all those little things I need are there.

Are you using DV? I’ve noticed that DV decks tend often move way too fast and computer will roll right past the in point. On my deck I had to go into the deck settings and change the speed of the scrub fast-forward to fix this.

  • You should only need 72 DPI to create your menus. Did you create them at the PAL size? That would be 720 x576 rectangle pixels. Not sure what the conversion would be if you are using square pixels. If those aren’t correct, then the final output would appear muddy.

October 26, 2006 at 6:24 pm in reply to: Text Effect

Create you text “Clean Sheets” Twirl open the properties, twirl text property. Click the “source text” keyframe. Go to where you want it to change to “Fluffy Pillows” and another keyframe.

Now you want to add an animatable property, “character offset” If you want this change to occur over 1 second, move 15 frames before you text change and turn on the character offset stop watch with a value of 0. Now move 1 second later and hit the check mark so that you have another value of 0. At the change insert a new value, this will cause the letters to continually change in a random like.

Adjust the range selector to finish the animation.

Grin, I always feel terrible when I read about your experiences with the Adrenaline, mine’s like a clydesdale. Right now I’ve got over an hour of HD in timelines, mixed with SD, DV and graphics, nary a problem. Got mine from Midwest too, but out of Detroit.

The only thing that pops to mine is that perhaps your uses settings are messed up. I had a crashing problem quite a long time ago, called tech and they suggested trashing the settings and starting over.

So strange how differently the same systems seem to perform.

  • Ok, you moved the folder from the attic to the projects folder and it overwrote it, but what you are saying is after you did that it disappeared. That’s wierd. Unless it’s in the project folder, I don’t know what to say about restoring your sequence.

When you start the avid, it was there it wouldnt show up in your projects from the menu cause it doesn’t have the project.avp and project.avs files.

Unless you have a system back up drive it may be lost. Before you give up completly you should do a through look in your folders for those files.

    Good Luck

  • You might need to create a new project. Not sure about your attic, but when I bring sequences and bins from there into the project they need to be renamed. Open the folders and each bin name should a folder IE Sequence. When you open that folder the sequence bin will be saved multiple times, Seq.1 Seq.2 Take the latest version then and rename(PC version) Seq.avb Now you can drop this renamed file into your new project.

Hopefully you will be good to go.
