I had a timecode issue on a recent show. To fix it I took the offending clip(s) and put them in their own timeline. Then just did a video mixdown on the entire sequence. Instead of matching to timecode I just matched to ‘in points’.

Just mark down the timecode of the video, first frame, and it should be fairly easy to group them with the other tape.

Thank you. Drive emulation was the trick. Ended up using Virtual CD – CD/DVD Drive Emulator. After reviewing the choices this one looked like the client will have the least trouble using.

Never would of ‘thought outside the box’ to come up with that solution.

    Thanks again.

  • Probably too late based on your post date, but I ran into this problem once with a website running a lot of scripts. What I did was copied the page and saved that as a file. Then instead of instructing the player to open a webpage, I had it open the file instead. It won’t browse through InteractualPlayer but rather through the user’s default webbrowser. This way you won’t get errors.

Had the same problem. What messed me up is that the DnX isn’t really 59.94 fps, it’s normal 29.97 interlaced. Not sure why they label it like that…makes everything confusing. Leave it to Avid to complicate the simple.

I also used the animation codec with Alpha, spent at least 2 hours trying to figure out the Avid codec didn’t support an alpha channel.

    David,

I for one thank you for taking the time making those tuts. IMO 95% of the questions people have would be answered by looking over the work you have done.

Hey Mods, how about pinning this to the top…

    Salud!

You can customize the user settings pretty much from user to user. It drives my boss nuts that I can’t work on the other editors settings nor he on mine.

Under the edit tab is a “set font” I believe that will solve your problem.

This is where I get my video desks. Sadly they don’t make the first one we got from them. Years ago when they decided to start making desks for video, they sent us a prototype, as a test. The desks they have now are very similiar, but not quite as big as the one they built for us 6 years ago.

Nice thing about their desks is that you can add side pieces, to put VTR’s…monitors…

In AE, under composition you need to “Save Frame” as photoshop layers. Then you take that layered file and import it as a menu into Encore. In Encore you will need to click on the menu, then go into the layers and turn off the eyeballs on pretty much all the layers save for the buttons. Now just import your rendered backgroud.

Most likely it’s just something you are seeing in the file preview. 99.9% that it doesn’t happen on the final burn.

Are you watching this footage on your computer, in the encore preview, if so that is not unusual. Have you burned a test DVD and played it in a normal player?
