  • I’d also be interested. I would want access to the front of the Mojo to check the status lights and to have access to the headphone jack.

Stagetools is great, but for a program that many Avid users already have, think BORIS FX (or RED or Avid FX). Does an elegant job very quickly and you access it directly from the Effects toolkit. Handles large images well, too, unlike Avid P&Z.

Do you mean the 350 or 3500? The 3500 is an approved card and is supported by Avid. I see no mention of a Quadro 350 on the MC systems requirement page:

    https://www.avid.com/products/media-composer/editor/specs.asp

That’s not to say it may not work, just that it would not be supported by Avid if you have problems with it. You might search for any references to the card in the Avid forums:

    https://www.avid.com/exchange/forums/

to see if others have any information for you.

My philosophy is that I want to spend more time editing than configuring and problem solving computer systems. The difference in the money I make working versus the money I save on system components is a no-brainer. Just my opinion.

    Austin,

You selected lower field in Sorensen but did you turn off deinterlacing?

Import the QT Ref into Sorensen. Set your MPEG 2 parameters as needed for this project, including lower field. Create a new filter (the plus button under filters). Call it “Remove Deinterlace” or whatever you want to call it. Uncheck the Deinterlace button in the filter that is checked. Apply this new filter to your job and then render as usual.

When you bring your footage into TMPGEnc or Avid DVD or whatever, it should be fine.

Yes, I think it was 5.0 that added MXF support.

Don’t forget that you can plug your audio cable to the headphone jack on the front of the Mojo as well.

The AudioSuite plug-ins will probably get you where you need to go. I use ProTools and prior to that, Sound Forge for all my involved audio repairs.

    Scottsky,

Are the files XML or MXF?

Take a look at the ALEX tutorial on P2 Workflow in Avid:

Audio? We don’t care about the audio!!! 😉

Seriously, I would think that 5800% audio would sound like hash. If it was sped up 300% or 500% it might be somewhat intelligible. All this is conjecture not knowing the audio source…

I would think you could “fake it” by using whatever speed the audio effect would allow (300 percent? 500 percent?).

It would probably appear correct to the viewer without being mathmatically correct.

    Rumpster,

You can just load the sequence into the source monitor (drag and drop), but I’m curious…how did you import the files into Avid so that they are sequences and not clips?
