    I put key frames close to the head and tail of clips. After adding transitions go to the motion tab and slide the keyframes out to the highlighted edges.

    Could you get the students to buy and use their own Firewire drives? Assuming DV video, each kid would have his drive that they bring to class and plug in locally to the workstation.

    Make sure lables aren’t interfering with the tape door. Is the cassette damaged in any way? Inspect the deck carrage for foriegn objects.

    Are you using Compressor 2.0? I’ve seen similar issues with mpeg2 encoding and moving stills. Compressor 2.1 does not do this.

    Boris changed significantly from 4.5 to 5.1. All your kerning and leading will change. You mentioned lots of titles. I would find a way to on-line in 4.5.

    To Jump onto this thread, We are looking at an Alesis USB mixer for the same purpose as we already have some nice mics. Anyone had any experience with any USB or firewire audio devices?

    make sure you sequence is set to high resolution. Ckeck the botton under the sequence name tab.

    DVCpro50 is NOT the common DV codec. You sould export as a DV file which should be readable by PCs.

    Just curious– if you check your clip bin in your new project, are the durations what you’d expect for each individual clip or do they seem to long?
