February 5, 2010 at 10:46 pm in reply to: Creating a custom Highlight pointer in Sony DVDA 5Thanks for the reply perhaps I can be a little clearer as to what I need. I’m familiar with PS but don’t know I can create a mask that will be an image instead of the transparent ones available. EX underline, Rectangle etc.
It says custom but I cannot find anything in the manual about creating an image that it will recognize as this and use that instead of mask.In my first post I referenced a baseball video. I have numerous menus and I would prefer that the image of a baseball be used at the end of each item to show which one is active and selectable. Just like you would have using a mask. I’d like to substitute one for the other.
Hope this sheds some light..

February 5, 2010 at 4:28 am in reply to: Disappearing video clips in DVD Architect Pro 5. build 119I agree with Mike about adding chapters and making it all one clip but I have never had the problem you are experiencing and I have used far more than 9 clips. I’ve not read about this limitation either so it makes me curious as to how you are setting up your pages.

February 3, 2010 at 6:00 pm in reply to: Disappearing video clips in DVD Architect Pro 5. build 119There is a limit to how many links you can have on one page but I don’t recall the number. If you exceed the mount DVDA will prompt you and tell you to add another page.

February 3, 2010 at 3:06 pm in reply to: DVD Studio Pro 4 – Basic DVD Help Needed – More challenging than expectedYou can do this in a work around by simply adding a still image of your clip to make it appear that is in a stopped or paused state. Then link it to your desired media and you’re done. Not exactly what you are asking,

February 3, 2010 at 2:48 pm in reply to: Disappearing video clips in DVD Architect Pro 5. build 119Why not just add all the media files and then create only one menu page with the links to all of them? Sounds like it would be a lot easier. Unless you are spending time to make the DVD portion on par with your film work. Otherwise you should be able to do as you stated without a hitch. It should not render you pages inop with no warnings before rendering. If I am missing the mark please let me know.

Since you don’t have the original source files or the DVDA project file you can do this to get rid of the button.(not exactly) Import your disc back into vegas. Look for the file on your DVD that shows your menu and bring those back into the timeline using the project media. You’ll need those files so you can make the changes you’ll need. I’m not sure what you used to create your background and what is going on in your menus. If you could upload a sample that would help. If you used a simple background and DVDA buttons then all you have to do is recreate the menus as best as possible. Without the original files you cannot just delete the button. If you have used a video as a background then there is more work involved. Basically you are starting almost from scratch in the sense that you will have to redo all you menu’s and navigation structure.

February 1, 2010 at 4:57 pm in reply to: Popping and clicking caused by editing in Sony VegasI’ve never encountered a problem with any of the above mentioned and certainly not by cutting the audio. This is part of my process on a daily basis so I am not sure what could be the cause of you issue. I think the clicking or popping as was mentioned here is due to sudden access of the file and yes it can be avoided in that instance with a very short fade in. It is kind of like having the sound level high and then realizing you do not have the speakers turned on, press the button and instant clipping. But simply moving a file should not cause this.

But it still can be done you just can’t see the cursor position in the window so you have to add your keyframes and then just drag your timeline cursor to see the changes. You can also drag the cursor in the generated media timeline as well and you will see the changes in the window. Text does not have a sync cursor either but you can keyframe that as well. Not the best or the easiest way but you can do it you just have to spend a little more time getting the timing right.

Welcome back Allen… You will have to keyframe your mask (rotoscope) to follow the movement in the Pan/Crop. Zoom into the timeline and add your keyframe to follow the movement. Very long process if you do it right. Unless your sign is a color you can Chroma key it out. I’d make another track on top and use that one for this. I’m sure there is software that can make the job easier but this you can do in Vegas. I have done it to highlight a player on the field.

I know that you were showing the audio in DVDA and that you need those formats to bring into it. What I was asking you to do is to go back into the NLE and render to another format across that problematic area. There are many projects that run almost 2 hours and I have never had an audio drop out like that. Why at that same point everytime? Don’t understand.
