You can’t go back further that the computer has already recorded. A manual restore point is one that you create. so if for example you wanted to be sure to be able to go back to this moment after you installed XYZ then you could because you asked it to record a snapshot of the system.

The short answer is no you cannot. as you said it only resumes where it last left off. If has no way to know where you would like it to resume.

You have to create the loop point first…
go to your timeline for the clip and navigate to where you want the loop point to be. Hit M…to add a marker,,change the name to whatever works for you.
Now go to the menu or clip that you want to loop back to that point. Select End Action
and then the name of the menu or media…after that look for the newly created Marker…that’s it -
First you should be rendering all your media to MPeg2 format with Ac3 audio or PCm as those are the only standards for DVD. If you render to another DVDA will recompress. Back to your question,
You can use your video as a transition between menus andhave it play as you wish. You must be sure the little green line and the in and out points are in the place you need them to be. I would not do it this way as it will give you sharp ins and outs. Better to create the transition exactly as you would like them to appear in your NLE and them bring those back into DVDA. No worries about in and out points and sharp cuts. -
At this point the best option is to pick a point in the restore and go back to a time where you know for sure you had no problems. The problem with not going back far enough is you will still have the virus affecting the system. Have you done a full virus scan? The best way to do it properly is to remove the drive and buy an adapter to power and connect it to another computer as you would an external drive. (About 20 dollars) Then run the full virus/spyware scan and see what you find. Other than these choices I agree with John that you may have let in a whole army of Trojans that are causing major problems. Sorry there is no short cut fix…

You can change the track order and that will change which track is above the rest. If you want to have a video come to the front and not have the others on top then you will need to use track motion with 3D enabled to create depth. You will need that for all of your tracks to operate in 3D mode. Otherwise you will have the the higher tracks always on top of the lower ones.

Really that is good news Mike… My point was really aimed at the by the time you have opened gone home burned, checked it is late. There is no way to avoid that step all together to be sure. Could you imagine Mike running a check on 500 discs then finding some different ones and going back to the store to start all over again? Boy is that not a fun idea. If I have a large order I send it out but if I have time I will save the money and do it myself. Thanks Mike for the tip…should actually address this with the company and ask for remuneration and more.

It can change the drive letter for sure. As far as the rest is concerned it is hard to trouble shoot with out being there. The system restore is one that window allow you to go back to a point before changes were made. There are numerous restore points and they will not damage you computer. Think of it as the Undo function in your editor. Look it up on the internet and you’ll see the how to.

That’s great but a bit too late once you have opened the package. Not to mention they could be a mix.

That would be nice indeed. Ideally it would be best to burn the mast in DVDA and then check it. Then use that in a duplicator that has the built in check. Actually there are better ones that will use the prepared files.
