  • Delete button menu from old DVD?

Posted by Adriana Lilette on February 3, 2010 at 10:10 am

    Hi

I need to edit an old DVD made with Vegas+Architect in 2006, to delete a button showing up on the menu. I now have the last version of the soft.

Only files I have are in video_ts, VOB+IFO, I already tried VobBlanker, VobEdit, PMGC etc. without any luck…

I am pulling my hairs, should not be that complicated to delete a button from the menu but I can’t.

Any body having an idea how to solve my problem?

    Thanks

    Adriana

Sorry just so I understand – are you saying that you DON’T have the original video files AND the original DVD Architect Project file?

You can only remove items from a DVD if you re-create the content of the DVD and to do that you need the original project file and the original video files / photos / audio files (whatever is the content) – or create the project again from scratch.

correct, i don’t have the original files. It’s a DVD I made in 2004 with in the menu a button link to my company, as I made lot of DVD i keep only the folders AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS for the purpose of making copies when/if the customer needs one.

Now one of my customer wants me to remove the button linking to the presentation of my company and I only have the .IFO and .VOB so I am trying to find out how to edit the menu to remove this button.

As of now the best I found was to delete the movie linked to the button but the button is still showing on the menu…

Since you don’t have the original source files or the DVDA project file you can do this to get rid of the button.(not exactly) Import your disc back into vegas. Look for the file on your DVD that shows your menu and bring those back into the timeline using the project media. You’ll need those files so you can make the changes you’ll need. I’m not sure what you used to create your background and what is going on in your menus. If you could upload a sample that would help. If you used a simple background and DVDA buttons then all you have to do is recreate the menus as best as possible. Without the original files you cannot just delete the button. If you have used a video as a background then there is more work involved. Basically you are starting almost from scratch in the sense that you will have to redo all you menu’s and navigation structure.

I didn’t delete the button image (missing original files and having no time to recreate a menu), i simply blanked it out with VOBblanker…
