It would seem that maybe that cs version of PS exports version 9+ paths, I dunno. My regular CS version works ok though. In your paths menu of photoshop, how may layers of paths are showing? Does the new version of ps have any .ai export options for legacy versions?

this can indeed be done under these conditions: you must have paths (vectors) in the psd file. also, multiple layers of paths either need to be combined or exported seperately. Not certain if cs3 does anything to the paths that earlier photoshop didn’t, so if it doesn’t work as expected, open up the paths in Illustrator and resave them as .ai version 8 or earlier… then try merging again. Cool tut, yet again Aharon… One small point, as of release 9.6, the sweep nurbs function has been enhanced, you can achieve an animated ribbon look using the sweep nurbs function only. It’s not nearly as elegant a solution as Mograph, but for those without, it’ll work. Here’s a sample: https://www.birdhausdesign.com/cow/SweepRibbon.c4d

hey, are they soft of raytraced shadows? If soft, maybe you could increase the shadow map size in the light properties to 1000. They propably are’nt soft, but maybe you could substitute one, also play with the other settings, like turn of shadow cone of the soft shadow, that will make it appear to be a hard ray traced one

your checklist seems like the way to go, also check for multipass, if its on, see if the destination directory is still valid. It sounds like there’s a file writing issue.

    December 7, 2006 at 3:28 am in reply to: D1 NTSC frame size / 29.97fps / 30fps render setup ?

Welcome to the world of NTSC. You can render at 720×486 with a .9 to 1 pixel aspect ratio and not worry about the re-sizing issue. As far as 29.97, I wouldn’t worry about that unless you are doing several minutes of animation synced to sound. Actually I recommend 60 fps and on your final ae field render use 29.97. Its always a good idea to avoid fields until the last pass.
