I enjoy seeing how many different ways there are to pull off a certain animations. Its a great sign of a a software’s versatility. So, here’s another approach. Start with a circle within a circle, then connect to make a compound shape. Draw a spline that is the beginning shape/path of the hose, making certain you have enough points to edit it later. Make a sweep nurbs of the O and the path, edit the points’ positions and curves using PLA on the path.

Heres a method: go to F-curves, drag in the objects to be reversed, select all (make certain they are all highlighted) then go to curves/ mirror X, ( it seems like Y would be the correct choice, but X works for me)
I bet there’s an easier way to do this, there are some really useful keyframe plug-ins out there, like offset and timeline tools…
Let us know if you find an easier way..

I’m thinking that the graphics driver may need an update. the NVidia GeForce2 Go driver is probably not available on the nividia site, but I’d check the Dell site to see id a drive update is available. As always, make certain you have a good restore point for XP.
    try this link: https://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kb/en/document?dn=1079143&c=us&l=en&s=gen&cs=#1

One caveat, I am not a software or computer engineer, so get a second opinion if you are at all unsure about updating your drivers.
    good luck

Not sure about that, although I thought that RAM assignment was a thing of the past in OSX.
Anybody else know if there’s a way to allocate RAM in OSX?

    Jason,
I looked at your scene file and it seemed fine, and without the source footage
acted like it would render reliably on my mac. Here’s what I’d try: First, render as a targa sequence,
so if you do get a lock-up, you can pick up where you left off by noting the frame number in the render folder. you can always reconform to QT later using AE or quicktime pro, etc. If the lockup happens at the same spot every time, I would suspect the QT footage may have a corruption issue.
Also, in earlier versions of C4d, I had issues with texture names that were similar. Sometimes the
maps were assigned to the wrong models and all kinds a crazy results. As a last resort,
you might rename your QT source files to distinctly different titles and reassign.
Of course, none of this is good news, but it looks like a good lookin scene.
    Good luck

My experience with lock-ups and crashes with c4d is that it is almost always video card related.
Others may have different experiences, but mine are usually solved with new video drivers, new card,
or even preference settings. As Adam asked, what are your specs and settings, maybe we can help trouble
    shoot your problem.

Take a look at the tutorial about the spline based shader at c4dcafe.

You may have to register by inputting your email, tons of useful info here.
you can pose splines, and if you have mocca, you can use the pose mixer to do complex
    lip animations..
