  • Text “O” fill-in question

I have searched and I can’t find the answer here. Hopefully its an easy one. I am doing text around a globe. I type my text and add an extrude nurbs to give it the depth. I also have a Wrap Object in there so it will wrap around the globe. For 4 frames, when an “o” gets in the middle of the screen, the middle of the letter fills in. My skill level with this program is low at best. If there is somthing I am missing please let me know.

what are the caps of the extrude? Try regular grid (Triangles or Quads). If not that then do you have fillet as well? Might have to be a bit smaller. Or perhaps the text spline needs to be subdivided.

Maybe you should try the free plug-in, path deformer lite:

Set your spline mode to “Uniform” and use very high values. This should give better tesselation results and eventually get rid of the popping polygons. If that still fails, convert your text to polygonal geometry and Subdivide it manually (Structure –> subdivide).

Thanks folks. The client has changed their minds (go figure) and I don’t have to do the text anymore. But I will figure it out for future use.

    thanks
