AutoSync lets you create Sync Clips. Those behave like subclips.

Select the sequence in the bin, right-click it, select Refresh Sequences, choose Color Adapters. This should have the sequence append any color adapters added to source clips.

Right-click the square to the left of the clip’s icon in the bin. Or segment-select one or more clips in the timeline, right-click, and set a local color. Also make sure you set the timeline settings to display the color coding you want it to display (timeline hamburger menu, clip color).

It’s really simple to create a 1080i50 signal from a 1080p25 sequence. That said, you’ll need to take into consideration whether or not you want your program to stay progressive all the way through. Meaning that there is a motion difference between any DVE moves, title rolls/crawls, wipes, pushes, etc. In 1080p25, these move in 25 steps/second, in 1080i50, these move in 50 steps per second (quite a bit smoother). Some broadcasters require titles be done in 1080i50.

Should just open, and if you’re unsure, create a new project in v8 and copy the v5 bins into it. Do note that 8.6.x has a problem where it often refuses to open bins from earlier versions (error messages appear). 8.5.3 seems to open them fine for me.

Depends on the quality of the footage (well lit, not too compressed), and a little on the type of shot, but generally speaking you can definitely pull off that type of zoom-ins, I wouldn’t expect too many problems up to 15%.
