Hmm. I would try to do it for real. It doesn’t look that hard. You could probably do it on a relatively small scale. It doens’t have to be long either, because you could loop it. Then use a blending mode for the bluish color.

I think Roland meant the CC Page Turn effect. It’s one of the Cyclore effects that’s a separate install from the AE disk.

What I would do is create a bunch of different shaped mouths on your character or whatever in Photoshop, one for each sound (I think there are about 8. You can find them in any animation “How to” book). Then bring them into AE as a compostion and just animate the different shapes’ oppacities according to the sound that’s being made. Make sure to parent your mouth shapes to the head too. Still a bit tedious, but better than reshaping a mask in AE.

Wow. That’s a slick spot. My initial reaction would be that some sort of particle effect was used, but how exactly, I don’t know. I’m glad you posted this. I’ve been seeing those cool Napster spots on TV and wondered who did them.

Now I know…and knowing is half the battle.

Not sure if it’s the kind of look you’d be going for, but for ground ice, you could shoot some scratchy ice at a hockey or skating rink and use a blending mode to composite it.

If you don’t have Trapcode and don’t wanna spend the money, I think Particle Playground would work too. Just set the layer map to one of your leaves and adjust the random settings accordingly.

Looks like Card Dance to me. Use different shades of grey as a gradient layer to change the rate at which the transition happens. You can even use a 2nd gradient layer in the effect for another animation.

    Good luck!

    Hi!
    Use the Pan Behind Tool.

    Good Luck,

Ok. This forum and the people here are awesome. Where else can you get a direct response from the guy who actually worked on the Kill Bill DVD? Very kind of you Christian, and nice job!
