Hi,I’m having problems creating the effect of curling paper on after effects. I’ve found loads of tutorials on solving it in photoshop but can’t seem to find any in after effects. I want my image to look like it’s peeling off the wall from the top like wallpaper. can anyone help me??
    Thankyou

Sounds like a Page Curl effect. Add some bits of distortion for a more realistic look and you should be good to go. If you have AE 6.5 and the Pro Bundle then you should be good to go.

    Hi Bex,
You might want to try animating this in Photoshop as layers ( considering you said you can do it here) then import the sequence as a comp in AE. Good luck,

I thought about doing it in photosop first but thought it wouldn’t look very smooth when i goes to after effects. You say ‘paper curl’ effect, but i was looking for something like that and couldn’t find it. I have version 6.. does this not contain this effect?
thankyou…as you can tell I’m new to this!

you can use bcc continuum’s page curl too if you have the means to buy it(it’s a great package btw but quite expensive), they have a trial version i believe.

i think plugin galaxy had it too, not sure if it’s still compatible with 6.5 though, havent used it in eons.

i dont remember seeing the page curl effect in the pro version default filters, but maybe i missed it.

there might be some other plugins to do it too… but dont remember any.

btw, i think some photoshop plugins could be used in afx(other than the ones from the “effect” menu), havent tried though, so maybe…

That’s it, hope you find out a way to do it,

I think Roland meant the CC Page Turn effect. It’s one of the Cyclore effects that’s a separate install from the AE disk.
