Have you seen this Aero spot before? It is located under archive on this site.

Anyone have any clues about how this was done or how to do something that is similar. I am assuming that I would use particles, but was wondering if there was a plug in that could help me out. Anything would be appriciated. Thanks! -

Wow. That’s a slick spot. My initial reaction would be that some sort of particle effect was used, but how exactly, I don’t know. I’m glad you posted this. I’ve been seeing those cool Napster spots on TV and wondered who did them.
Now I know…and knowing is half the battle.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you could come close to this effect using Particle Illusion with the take color from underlying layer feature.
I really need to upgrade to PI 3 so I can try these things out!
