1080psf (also known as 1080sf) 23.98 is not in the HDMI spec. 1080p 23.98 is. You will need a converter to make 1080p or an SDI HD monitor. I’m using the AJA HI-5 3G. Or the one mentioned above. Found this out the hard way too on my HDMI only digital input monitor. I have an AJA LHi. Great card.

Just to clarify Tom’s comment, If you have any one of those programs on a Mac (I know you are on Windows) you will get the ProRes codecs. Compressor 4 and Motion 5 are only 49.95. Motion is the more updated of the two from the previous version 4. This would be for Mac users of Premiere Pro who never got FCP.

You also can get the ProRes codecs with Motion 5 for $49.95. More of an update than the new Compressor.

First you must be an AJA timeline. Go to Sequence/Sequence Settings/Playback Settings. The AJA control panel within Premiere will pop up. There are settings for analog out. Set the Secondary Format to the proper setting, then set the Analog Out to its desired setting. The Primary format is preset by the AJA timeline you choose when you set up originally.

Glad you are still working on it, Kevin. A real fix is important to a lot of us.

It is an interesting time! I’m now using Premiere 5.0.4 for Nikon D7000 support, 5.5.2 for XDCam and others, Final Cut for some of it’s features and hardware support (IoHD) and am putting it all together with Media 100 Suite 2.1 for it’s unmatched stability in long form, in ProRes HQ from all the rest. Media 100 Suite is still available for $595 for a few more days with a free trial period. Don’t underestimate it. All these work on the same MacPro with the same AJA LHi. The IoHD on a new 17″ MacBook Pro with FCP for lossless up and down converts between systems. Will get the Avid when drivers are available and I finish a two year project. Where one falls down, I move to the other. The glue is ProRes HQ, still the best finishing codec in my humble opinion.

I remember when Paul Rosten loaned us a VO-1800 and a CVS Time Base Corrector in 1974 to record the first helical scan show ever produced on broadcast in Chicago, “TV Song”. It was a video art program I did while an intern there funded by a grant I wrote to the Illinois Arts Council. We also produced “It’s a Living” based on Studs Terkel’s book “Working” with Studs as the main character. This was with Videopolis using the TBC. I’ll always be grateful to Roscor. They were about the size of a small drugstore then. Sorry to hear the news.
