Hi Floh,
How do you intall or upgrade to 10.6.8 and still maintain access to legacy footage, MJPEG B? I’m sticking with 10.6.7 to avoid that problem, but is there a way to go to 10.6.8 and still use the “old” Quicktime? Which version do you recommend? I’m at 7.6.6 now, and with OS 10.6.7 the legacy media plays fine. I’m on the latest version of the Suite, 2.1.I have Motion 5 and it will only install on 10.6.8 now. I made the mistake of buying it from my Macbook Pro 17, but can’t get in on my Mac Pro with 10.6.7. Don’t want to go to Lion as it breaks several programs (Rosetta) that I use regularly.
Thanks

I’m using a GTX-285 I got from e-Bay and it works great on the Mac. Less than $400.

Call Avid. One of the joys of dealing with them. I was their dealer here for six years. Then it would have cost you $5000 to make the call. I hear they are trying to improve their support. I hope that is true, because when I finish a 2 year project I’m going to try out MCP6. AJA support is superb. HDMI is what it is. It will not show 23.98 1080psf. In Final Cut you can put it on a 1080p timeline or a 1080i 29.97 timeline. Then it will show. Personally, I want to see what is native coming from my camera, and many now are psf. Then you can master at whatever frequency and res you need. Best of luck. Seriously. Said much more elegantly by the gentleman from AJA above, who beat me to it.

Because 1080p is in the HDMI spec. 1080psf is not.
