I’ve seen a few of the Premier errors, but the Kernal panics were full blown semi transparent box in middle of screen telling me I had to restart. Repairing permissions seems to have solved all of the issues however. A least for now.

Did the toggle trick work for cleaning up audio. I’ve noticed that I need to do it more than once over the period of several hours editing.

Haven’t run into your other issue, but right now I’m only editing a mixed bag of 30p and 29.97i onto a 1080/29.97i timeline. All seems to be working as it should.

Spoke with AJA this morning and the solution for the intermittent sound is to toggle between “default output” and “system default input/output”.

    Worked for me.

They had no suggestions on what was causing the Kernal Panic I was getting while trying to change audio hardware preference and also while in the Mac audio preference going from line input and output to Kona card.

    thx…jw

Me too. I installed the drivers yesterday and spent about an hour working with the program and everything worked great. Today everything has gone south. Broken audio, static and a number of Kernal panics when I change audio hardware in preferences. Switching from default in and out to Kona 3 card for voice over.

I have no idea what’s going on. One moment everything is playing back fine, the next either no audio, static in audio or dropped audio intermittently.

    thx…jw

I tried a .wav, .mov and .aif file at 48khz. The icon only appears while dragging the file to the timeline, but here is a shot from my Iphone.

Thanks Steve or is that “Chicken Little” 🙂

There is indeed a supply issue for hard drives in general. In my very humble opinion I think the ” sky rocketed” description may be just a little excessive at this moment.

Just trying to solve a problem with the experience I had with a similar situation, which at the time no one had a solution. Perhaps you’d like to offer a solution?

    Thx…Jim Watt

Jamie, about a year ago I ran into a similar set of problems, though my crashes were either on render or scrubbing through th timeline. I was cutting multicast with material from 3′ EX-3″s on a proRes timeline and the pro maintenance pack indicated it was a problem with MPEG files.

Bottom line is no one came up with a decent solution to my problem, though I accidentally or coincidentally solved it myself. I bought a new 2tb drive and relaxed my system drive…crashes went away. Also was getting frequent “out of memory” errors which also disappeared with the new system drive. I’m not a techie, so I don’t have a clue why the drive change fixed my issues, but I’m not complaining.

7200 rpm drives are relatively cheap from OWC and if it works???

    Good luck….jw

I still run into this from time to time, but trashing preferences seems to work. Never did really find the exact fix, though I very seldom see it happening anymore and I’m doing 2 & 3 Hr multicam shows consistently.
