3ivx – inexpensive, works well in Vegas. The codec Vegas uses is Sorenson – limited.

The best MOV files I do are with the 3ivx codec. You can set parameters that you can’t with the Sorenson codec that comes in Vegas (unless you spend $300 for the Sorenson program). With the right settings it always looks good. I’ve never tried it with uncompressed. All I know is that uncompressed is huge.

It should run on 64bit. I told the Sony guy when I was requesting to beta the new system that I was running 64bit already on a two AMD dual core system. He didn’t say I’d have to upgrade to Vista — only that I would have to upgrade to 8. Does that help?

Vegas 8 comes out first – in fall.

How are you bringing the sequences in? “File-import-media” then click the first one and click the box for “sequence.” The sequence should then appear in media as a clip. You are doing this but can’t put 3 clips together? Is that what you are saying?
Did you try to render any before combining them?

Don’t know if this would help but all my sequence stuff is done in png or jpg. It is what Vegas likes.

Set your preview on “Preview-quarter”. It should be in sync but blurry perhaps. If you still have to test your sync on the timeline, do a small region and go to “Tools-Build Dynamic Ram preview” and the region will play as rendered, even if the video resolution is set to higher level.

Thanks for the work-around. “Problem” should not be in quotes. It IS a problem and one that has not been addressed through three versions.
