The Event library and it’s contents are one the most interesting changes in this software. There are things taken directly from FCP 7 too. There are searchable columns hidden just as they were in FCP 7 for example.
I suppose you make one little keyword for how you want to organize anything you’re doing. But you need a keyword for every clip. But it’s all in the keywords for sure. Finding clips once done seems fast here.

Rafael is right. Always stay native in the sequence to the frame size/rate, then in the END make your downsized web dimensions. This could be part of the issue, not clear on that, but give it a try on a single clip in a sequence which matches it’s properties exactly.

What happens to the timecode when you change reel numbers? I’d think it shouldn’t change at all…
Probably best to just export the sections you want to analyze with smoothcam, reimport them, then edit these sections into the sequence and smooth cam them…

Aren’t the source clips 1920X1080? If so, why are you resizing them in the sequence?
Also post the version of QuickTime you’re judging this all with…

Nope. RT Extreme is the tech that FCP uses to preview real time playback of unrendered effects. However it only works with standard vidoe frame sizes.
Could you Edit natively, then resize the final edit? That would allow you to not have to render during the editorial process… until the end.

Sounds to me like there’s a bad render file in the sequence. If the export gets to a certain percentage of completion, then it fails, it’s about that same percentage into the timeline from the head… those render files should be re-rendered…

You chose Compressor’s 1080p setting for all clips when you transcoded them? If so they should ALL be square and all be 1080p clips using ProRes as the codec. Frame rates should be the same too for best results. If you’ve done things this way, there should be NO difference in size or pixel shape. All square all prores 1080p.

You need to transcode the MP4’s to DV PAL first… Compressor will do it.
