Keep using those FW drives… they still are the best bet I think.

Export as before… i.e. use file/export/QuickTime… and include the chapter markers from a pop up menu in the dialog box you’ll see… then open Compressor and import that file… the chp. markers will be included.

I only see this behavior If the clips were put in a sequence setting that didn’t match it, then after setting the sequence to the same setting as the clips, the clips remain “colored” wrong at the top Sometimes they tun to FUll RT…

I’d think that you change the render settings in FCP to RGB, or simply color correct the result from AE a bit in FCP… The shift is well known though, and I don’t think you are experiecing a bug… But I also recommmend you post this in the After Effects forum where there are a lot of folks encountering this, and no doubt have the best workflow for AE and FCP… It still concerns me a bit you had the luma shift in a self contained QT movie from FCP though. This isn’t supposed to happen, and I’ve never seen this behavior, so don’t know if theres a hint of something corrupted in QT or FCP or something. Keep us informed here of your answers so that this thread becomes even more useful.

June 17, 2005 at 12:01 am in reply to: FCP5 crashes on opening a FCP4.5 project… Help !!How did you do the upgrade to 5? on Tiger? and if so, how did you upgrade to Tiger? If not a clean install you are going to run into problems… I’ve been working with FCP 3 project files that were updated to 4, re edited and am now working these same files in 5… so I know it’s not a bug per se.
Any time you upgrade it should be done as a clean install, and if you want to open a pre FCP 5 project file, for heaven’s sake open a COPY of it… not the original.
Upgrading mid project is dicey at best… But if you do a clean install of it all that same project file might open right up… Also if your autosaves are saved more often, you won’t lose as much work if a project file goes south… I know this doesn’t help now, but it will later if you take heed…

If you do a clean install of it all (no upgrades – erase and install from the ground up after backing up all you need to keep) things go a LOT better…

If you are talking about listening to a captured clip, you do have to close the log and capture window to hear it playback, this has been the behavior of FCP 4 and 3 etc.. as far as I know…

I’m not having any trouble hearing audio thru the computer’s speakers with the preview button on with a Kona 2 setup or direct from a DSR-11…
