FCP has direct links to Shake and Motion…i.e. they open from within FCP so it’s pretty seamless… sort of like a module opening in an Avid system.

When I captured the tape I’m referring to, it didn’t even take 30 seconds to find the break… I can see TC during capture either on my video monitor or the deck too… Not in FCP, however, I can see it if I setup the system properly… so in answer to your first question, FCP 5 is probably improved a lot here.

Might make things more standard… i.e. export the audio at 16 bits, and sync those exported files… and be using a 23.98fps sequence…? Just guessing, but figure it’s a mis match somewhere…

It should not be stuttering… Post the versions of Quicktime, OS, and FCP you are using. Is there a capture card involved? which one? and which drivers are you using?

Is the Viewer set to “fit to window”? That’s about the only thing I can think of that would cause a stuttery playback there…

The Q slider determines the range of the effect, and the frequency slider determines, well, the center of that range of frequency affected. The idea is that a range of frequency is notched out completely so you wouldn’t need a gain slider for that.
