    Hiya

Not an FCP issue as such, but thought someone might know the answer to this.
We’ve just got some stock footage from the BBC, who’ve sent it to us electronically as a .mpg file.
However, the file wont open in anything, and looking at the codec info, the file is encoded using something called “C&E video decoder”.
So far we’ve tried reading it with: Final Cut Pro, After FX (Mac and PC), combustion, shake, quicktime, realplayer, Windows Media players 8, 9 and 10, Windows Media Encoder, Media Cleaner, and DVD studio Pro 3… no joy.
Anyone know what the hell this codec is all about and where the hell it came from?

    Thanks
    Tristan Nieto

Have you talked to the folks at the BBC? I would…
