Have the latest drivers from Aurora? Might post this in the Aurora forum too… might be a certain combo of software that works best…
That said, if you didn’t do a clean install of Tiger and FCP 5 over it, that too could be the issue.

Make sure that the DSR’s input is set to the S video position on the front of the machine. Also should probably set the E/E set to on. That’s found in the on screen menu acessed from remote control. And also be sure that the input select is DV.

You will be miles ahead when upgrade time comes if you buy another HD to setup for the new system setup… leaving the old startup disk for backup reasons… that way you could copy and paste plugins, fonts, etc… until you are happy that the new setup is OK…
But do things in this order… Install Tiger, run Software update… install the Studio (don’t just buy FCP 5 BUY THE STUDIO!) Install it all, then run Software Update again. Repair permissions…

Not really, however you could export a batch list from FCP, enter the new text in excel in say, a comment column, reimport that and the comment would have the info in it.

Yeah, there is a way, but not with FCP.. you’ll need either filp4Mac, Cleaner, or Sorenson’s Squeeze for the job. There are other windows media player compatible formats though, a large sized MPEG-1 file works OK… just not too small or it looks pretty bad.

You could create multiple multiclips would be easiest I’d think. One for each “set” of subclips. Then edit them into a sequence en masse…

I’d stay at QT 6 if your not running FCP 5. FCP 4.5 running in OS 10.3.8 and QT 6.5.2 is awesome. Why change a winning combo? When it’s compelling to upgrade, FCP 5.0.2 running on OS 10.4.2 and QT 7.01 is also a very stable setup, but only on systems setup as a totally clean install of the OS and the apps… There is an uninstaller for QT 7 https://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime652reinstallerforquicktime701.html
You don’t need QT Pro to run FCP at all by the way… and you will have to pay for a pro key unless you upgrade to FCP 5. (comes with the pro install of QT 7)
