Might copy and paste from one sequence to the other then… only what you copy will paste… and it will not nest.

You need to transcode the M4V file to ProRes. FCP doesn’t support MPEG-4 editing…

Only setting that I can think of is in the User Prefs… in the Render tab. Make sure the filters are turned on…
If that doesn’t fix you, trash your preferences for FCP, and relaunch it.

I think I’d just put them in the sequence as they are and render. If it comes out OK, it is OK… if not, might try Compressor to transcode them to DV.

The serial number shows up during the launch of FCP… you should be able to see what’s what there.

I don’t have a lot of third party plug ins, so they “might” be trashing those, but I sure don’t think they should… the Apple updates definintely did NOT trash them… had they done so, we’d all see the problem.
I think you need to reinstall FCP quite frankly to get it right.

Maybe go through the EDL in a text editor, and add the video to the list? It’s been a long time since I manipulated an EDL, but seems to me it’s just a matter of adding a V to each edit… right? or something just as easy… 2 v’s? LOL? I just can’t remember exactly but it’s not that hard to do I’ll wager.
Then import that new EDL and batch capture it.

Michael, I’ve never heard of this app, so I tried to google around and find it… it’s doesn’t seem to come up… might call those you were working for and ask them about it? If they tell you were it is, I’d love to hear about it.

What is the sequence setting? It should be ProRes 4444 to start with I’d think. You created the text with Boris or?
