    What is the camera?

How are you putting it on the timeline?

What settings are you using for the camera to record audio?

Do you hear audio on the tape playback when it is in the camera?

So, no. You don’t need to do anything different than how you were doing things. Keep on keeping on 🙂

What are you encoding for? Web? Broadcast? DVD? BluRay?

    Are you PAL or NTSC?

Where do the compatibility issues come in at? Are you going to FCP or some other NLE?

If you tell us how you wish to output it, we may be able to help you pick the right template to start from and give you some ideas on how to tweak it.

You should be able to do a “Save As” with the 3 minutes worth of footage on the timeline and tell it to trim media in the save as dialogue box. Also, once you have all the media on the timeline that you want to keep, click the lighting bolt button in the project media window. It will remove all files that are not in use on the timeline from the project. However, if your captured file is an hour long and you are using 30 seconds of it, the whole hour long captured footage will remain in the project media window.

I hope this was helpful. Let us know if it does not.

Can you stretch the edge of the box? Perhaps it is hidden behind a border.

I’m not sure if it does or not. Have it to prepare and not burn (if that is an option in the consumer version) and use a program like free iso burner or if you have Nero, use it to burn the prepared files.

What kind of look are you going for? I’m sure you will want it to fit the rest of your video. With that being said, there are flyovers- cityscapes, landscapes, safari, water, earth from space, etc. He could also fly through a cave, a wormhole, through space. There are all kind of flying shots you could put him in.

Now the hard part is finding the scene you want within your budget! Do a search for stock footage.

Jeff, I’m losing you- maybe I can remote in and see what is going on for you. Perhaps tomorrow morning? I am on Central time so right now it is 4.10pm where I am at. Shoot me your email address (or an email from your email address) and I will send you a code for me to remote in with and maybe we can figure out what is going on. It is only valid for 20 minutes. Perhaps around 9.30am we can start the remote?

Just for elimination sake, have you removed the dissolve at the beginning and tried again?

What flavor of avi are you rendering to? Remember, avi is just a wrapper that can contain any assorted sundry of codec inside.
