Well for those that might seek the answers
Here’s what I put together using a simple Explsion FX deformer.
https://vimeo.com/5945106Here is my first test file using mograph matrix to create the particles > then add a TP group change node with a collision effect > that then triggers the particle to be switched to ones that are then effected by the wind.
https://cid-798bcbc4121c0c8f.skydrive.live….estFootage?uc=1Still refining my TP example — looking to add more randomness. Still not organic enough.

I think the subpoly is the way to go. Did a couple tests and acheived the effects I was looking for, it just becomes hard to add other objects to the surface but I can get around that I think.
Also I tried using the paint brush tool (don’t know official name) and set it to pull and linear and was able to sculpt mountains fairly well from the surface.
Finaly found the link that is inspired this question. may help add some color

Yes. It just makes what looks to be a balled up crinkly (sp) piece of paper. No real distinct look of mountains growing from the sphere itself which is what I’m going for.

This did not work. I am having the same issue where I am trying to rotate cubes in a grid array and have them show diffeent textures on each side. Have followed the grid wipe tutorial on Ciniversity but that seems to only work with Planes. Cubes is a whole other ball game apparently.

So I created the effect I wanted using non TP particles — im simply using the cinema 4d default particles system. Well, no luck. Now it’s giving me a whole new problem when rendered through the camera. The particles are not jittery/shaky but they simply do not produce and animate like they are suppose to. Case and point…
Before Camera: Correctly renders through editor
https://fluidresolution.com/NoneTP_Editorview.movAfter Camera: incorrectly renders through camera
https://fluidresolution.com/NoneTP_Cameraview.movscene file
https://fluidresolution.com/ImagePArticles2.zipI am starting to think that C4d + Vray + Particles + Camera = no worky. This is a riddle wrapped in an enigma placed in the center of a maze.

February 6, 2009 at 10:43 pm in reply to: How to apply multiple textures to TParticles (Like photos)How about this. How hard is it to take the “Multiobject emitter” (from the thinking particles content browser) and make those particles rotate like the “rolling emitter” (from the thinking particles content browser)?

Yeah I started from skracth and seems to be working now.

Yes both works. however I would like it to only render on Front.
