  • How to apply multiple textures to TParticles (Like photos)

I am trying to create a sequence where hundreds/thousands of photos animate from the camera perspective to one point which will ultimately resolve to the logo. I have achieved the effect i want using Thinking Particles straight from the content browser (rolling emitter and then some rotation effectors) works great. However I can not seem to find a simple way to apply mutliple textures (photos) to the various particles.

    a) I tried using the Mutlishape emmiter” but then I am not bright enough to figure out how to rotate the particles using Xpressso. All those nodes just confuse me. I like the presets 😉
    b) I thought I could create a texture from after effects where every frame represented an image and then apply a texture that just grabbed random frames from the timeline of my video texture (if that even makes sense) but animated textures in C4D remain just that — animated.

Is there an easy way for someone like me (Not an Xpresso expert) to do this?

    Thanks – JG

You can have several groups of TP each with a texture…and you can animate these over the age of the particle that way you could have several different ones but this will not be a preset kinda thing…. and I am not sure you will get the full randomness that you want.

Maybe if you were more specific about what you need…even then I dont really know.

How about this. How hard is it to take the “Multiobject emitter” (from the thinking particles content browser) and make those particles rotate like the “rolling emitter” (from the thinking particles content browser)?

I would add this to the multi object preset. Be sure to make the object editable in the preset as well make the deflector plane editable too and the the Pdeflector node to object. Prolling node does nothing unless you are colliding the particles… you could simply replace the the Prolling node with a Pspin node to and remove the deflector and gravity…. if you want to go with the Prolling preset you will have to set a group for each object. then a Pshape for each group.
Like everything else in xpresso there are several methods that will all get similar results.
