This would seem to me that you have some sort of setting mismatched somewhere, whether it was capture settings, your timeline settings or a wicked combo of the two.
DV50 should run on just about anything, excluding thumb drives.

Mr Video: So that means, by your rules, you shouldn’t have bought the quad. Dual dual core processors and PCIe is brand new to the mac. It’s okay, I violate all the rules I set up for myself as well.
Aaron: Questions like these come up at least once a week. If you can afford to and NEED to buy now, buy now. If you can afford to or perhaps want to wait for the latest greatest hardware, wait. It’s very simple really. I have no experience with the Quad, but I’m sure it’s a bad ass machine. I don’t know what apps you use, but it’s quite possible that programs like After Effects/Photoshop will not be ready for Intel primetime for a little while. On the other hand, you will have to buy all new capture and host bus cards for the quad, seeing that it is PCIe and all, as it has been mentioned in this thread and others.

Why not use DVCPro hd 23.98? It’s roughly twice the size of dv. Very manageable.
What format are you digitizing from?

File -> Export -> Batch List. Open resulting file with Excel. Delete any columns you don’t need.

What Walter says, but you’ll have to recapture the PAl dv25 files. Kona does not handle different codecs in the same timeline as Cinewave. You need to either recapture your pal dv25 as 2Vuy, or your targa as pal dv25 and set up your timeline accordingly. If you decide to keep everything dv25, then set your timeline to that, if you decide to do 8 bit uncompressed, then you must set your timeline to that.

Two ways:
Use compressor and find the file size in the “estimated file size” dialog.
Use math. Check your data rate and multiply. If your data rate is 800 kilobytes/sec, then multiply 800*# of seconds of your program. If it’s 5 mins long then it’s 800*300=24000 kilobytes. Divide by 1000 to get the # of Megabytes. 24000/1000=24 Megabytes. Add several more MBs for audio.
This should get you close.

Don’t know what that means. Kona2 has the ability to remove 3:2 pulldown on the fly, but it can be tricky. I would call aja support and have them walk you through it if you’re interested.
When you look at your footage frame by frame are there 2 judder frames or one? That should help you see if it’s advanced pulldown or normal pulldown.

Was the footage shot 24pNormal or advanced? That could be your problem, trying to reverse an advanced pulldown cadence instead of the Normal (3:2) pulldown cadence.
