HD Offlining in Photojpeg @23.98
Im on a G5 dual proc with Kona 2 card and xraid running fcp5.0 I’m trying to find an offline capture setting that will take my HD footage down to a manageable file size…say DV size, but i want to retain my 16:9 aspect ratio. Say 640×360. Anytime I try to run these settings. My capture aborts, drops frames, etc. What can I do to get this to work. Any Ideas?

Why not use DVCPro hd 23.98? It’s roughly twice the size of dv. Very manageable.
What format are you digitizing from?

Use the preset for DV anamorphic 16X9. The resolution is 720X480, with anamorphic pixels.

dropped frames are always caused by your hard drives being too slow to handle the task you’re throwing at them. What kind of drives are you using? How are they formatted?
