Put the audio in a secondary storyline (select the clip and hit command-g). This will then allow automatic ripple editing. Simply range select the section you want to delete (hold r and click and drag the on the audio section you want to remove), then hit delete. You will see the audio will then ripple delete. It’s very quick once you get the hang of it.

You’ll have to be more specific.
Meaning you are being sent video over the internet? You have to source stock footage over the internet? You have to provide files over the internet? What do you need to do?

Try Handbrake software.

I would try pointing your export at another hard drive.
If that doesn’t work, I would try deleting your cache and try again.
If that doesn’t work, I’d trash FCP preferences (hold command and option, and launch fcp).
If that doesn’t work I’d look to make sure all your plugins are up to date.

10.5 seems fine. What have you heard that would stop you from upgrading?
I don’t think there’s a way to go to 10.4.9 without finding someone that has it and moving it to your machine.

Apparently the M1 optimised version of Resolve 17.1 on a Mac mini blows away the Intel version
I would hope that it would. The intel Macmini has the iris graphics which aren’t great.
The test I’d like to see is a fully blown out 16″MBP vs an M1 Macmini or MBP13.
Also, I thought that this required Thunderbolt 4, but apparently OWC has a hub that works with Thunderbolt 3 and Big Sur.

Try making a new export destination. (File > Share > Add Destination, and then drag “Export File” to the list on the left). Rename it something cool, setup the parameters you’d like, and try sharing again using that setting.
If that doesn’t work, try trashing the “com.apple.FinalCut.UserDestinations.plist” in the User > Library > Preferences folder. To get there go to Finder, Hold option, select the “Go” menu while still holding option, and then choose Library and Navigate the preferences folder.

I love Hawaiki keyer. It is eons better quality than the built in keyer. I also use it in Ae rather than Keylight. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it’s not difficult. I’d suggest watching the walkthroughs on YouTube from the developer, Simon Ubsdell. I’d start with the v4 walkthrough and then move on to the v4.5 features, even though 4.5 adds new features with “screen clean”.

Did you try moving a copy of the app from the 10.4.10 machine to the 10.4.8 machine?
Or, yeah, bite the bullet and do 10.5 on all. They have to be running Catalina, though. 10.5 does NOT require Big Sur (macOS 11).
