It’s a multistep process. First, select the clip whose settings you like, and hit command-c (copy). Then select the clips you want to change, and hit shift-command-x (or Edit > Remove Attributes…) and then hold option and select the keyer effect. This will select ONLY the keyed effect that you want to remove. Then hit shift-command-v (or Edit > Paste Attributes) and option-choose the keyer effect again, which will paste ONLY the keyed effect. I’d suggest trying this on a subset or a duplicate set of clips (maybe copy/pasted at the end of the timeline, or in a Snapshot) first, before doing the whole timeline, just do you have a sense of how it works.

If you have a range selected try hitting “d” which will overwrite a clip from your selected range in the browser to the Project. A “replace” edit requires that a whole clip be selected in the timeline (or slice the clip where you want the in and out to be) and then you can do a replace from start (or end, or just a replace).

What you are seeing is normal. You will have to relink if you move a library and media around to different volumes.
You can have a look at Postlab which allows you to check libraries in and out and it will track different media pools so you will only have to relink the first time, and it should track after that. There’s a free trial to get started on.

My question is if it takes 1-3 hr to relink, why?
This is fairly normal on SMB shares and FCPX libraries. The act of moving the old symlink out of the library and replacing with the new symlink (or alias file) takes a lot of time due to the nature of the very small files. I don’t know how Jellyfishes work, but spotlight data might not help, it doesn’t work on my server as the server is a totally different disk format than HFS or APFS.

It’s possible, Joe, but the media is treated as “original” and not proxy. So if you import proxy material first, there’s no way to switch to proxy or proxy preferred. You’d have to edit as original, then relink to original media as original, then relink the proxy as proxy. There is no way that I know of to start with “import proxy” without having original media first. This would be a solid feature request.

Yes, I don’t think there’s a way, currently, to import proxy media and identify it as such. You need to start with an original, and then relink (or create) to a proxy version.

If your clip in on the primary storyline then you don’t need to put it in a storyline, you just have to delete the section you want to remove. But if it’s audio attached to video, then yes, you an to either death the audio, or edit another instance of if below.
