I have a project going version A of a section inside the project which is a Multicam clip. We now want to swap out Version A and replace with version B multicam which has a different cast. If I select a range that encompasses version A and then try to do a replace edit with Version B the result is the first clip of version A multicam is replaced by Version B shoving the remainder of version A range over to the right. Is it not possible to replace a multicam clip with another version of a multicam clip?

If you have a range selected try hitting “d” which will overwrite a clip from your selected range in the browser to the Project. A “replace” edit requires that a whole clip be selected in the timeline (or slice the clip where you want the in and out to be) and then you can do a replace from start (or end, or just a replace).

I suspect that the muticamclip I’m trying to replace fails at replacement because there are some edits in not just cutting between angles. If the multicam was untouched save for angle changes and I tried a replace edit with a version B multicam clip, the replacement might work.
