That’s what I do frame.io. And if you cut the compound clip when you need to make the timeline shorter, all the edits stay in the right place, even though the sequence tc doesn’t match the compound clip/notes tc anymore.

Sorry that was a typo. I meant primary. You can move the sections that need changing out of the primary so that the overall timeline remains in place. Makes sense?

Uh, wow!!! I love OWC and they are usually a first stop when I shop for ‘parts and accessories’ for Mac.
What does this really say? OWC is looking for a different market or Lumaforge was looking to get out?

At that point in time, where it goes black, what happens if you match frame?

Of course, make a snapshot of the timeline before making changes, but what I do is make the changes above the Secondary storyline first, to keep everything in time with the original change sheet, and then I go back and mend the timeline together and get rid of any gaps.
If the changes come from frame.io, I import the changes list (comes in as a compound clip with markers) and then I simply slice the compound clip as I go so it ripples with the timeline, and the changes stay in sync in the timeline.

I would check the files before they go to compressor. Are the downloaded files PAL from YouTube?

If you must do this, I would create separate boot partitions and boot from one or the other (or just simply keep everything up to date). Why do you need “FCPX2” (which I really don’t know what that is) when you can use “FCPX4” all the time?

I am burning YouTube videos to DVD
Most likely, those videos are 25fps or PAL, or your sequence is set for PAL in FCPX. You’d have to convert them to NTSC (Compressor can do this) first, or try converting the file to NTSC and compressing for DVD at the same time (using Compressor). Your results may vary.
Check the frame rate on your downloaded files, and your FCP Project as perhaps the original files aren’t PAL.
