If the timecode and tape name match, you can relink. Consolidation doesn’t change either of those, so all will be good.

Whenever you are purchasing a new computer, get it as powerful as you can afford- otherwise you’ll be kicking yourself later that you didn’t go the extra mile up front.
It’s a long term investment, just think of it that way..

It is, but you won’t be able to see moving Video. The video is part of the overlay on the graphics card, and not rendered in remote control windows.
I would recomend using a VNC client.

Where do people GET this idea? Unity has ALWAYS supported Macintosh Clients, Through the Chooser in OS 9 and now through the Fibre Connection Manager in OS-X.
Please tell whomever told you there might be a problem that they have been given false information.
I use Unity on Mac along with PC’s daily.

Based on the resolutions you have available, this is a film project. Also, do you have a Mojo- it tends to be required to digitize or output 1:1. And, what version of the software are you running?

Set it up with an extra internal drive, and go Dual boot. Then you’ll never have to be worried about this again, despite changes from manufactuers.
