Right-click on the event, make sure it’s not locked, click properties, and adjust playback rate.

Alan,

I can’t say that this will fix your problem but, whenever I install a new computer or new version of Vegas, I always install 32-bit first. It seems that some of the media generators are only in the 32-bit version. Then I install the 64-bit version. I install it last so that the double-click on a .veg selects 64-bit. I hope this is of some use to you situaltion.

One other thing.

Be sure your .sub files are saved in a unicode font or it will realy mess up the special characters.

Fred,

I just opened a old project that had a whopping 26 subtitle tracks. They all show up correct, even on a DVD player.

I too use a semi-transparent black background. The size gets automatically corrected by height but not by width.

About 4 years ago when we got into subtitles we tried Adobe products (and a few others) DVDA beat them all hands down. I wonder what the score would be today?

I’m not sure here, but I think if you were to add a one letter subtitle event with the letter “a” as the text, then make the box as small as you want in order to surround it, center horiz, and vert, then apply formatting to all selected tracks, it should extend the size as big as it is needed for the separate events. Try it!

Roger,,You can use save-as and check copy-media and it will trip your original files to save with the .veg

I use this all the time for archiving.

I would clear out any unused event from the project media before saving.

I like using the script RenderImageSequence and then import the pictures as motion footage. 1 frame per second = 30 times faster ( if original is 30 fps) Try it with a motion blur on the video bus, you can get some cool effects. There are scripts available with more flexibility than the built in render template.

I think you will find this on Ed Troxel’s site. Anyone else know the download location of this?
